It started as a wish...
Laura’s wish in the Spring of 2005 to find the perfect shoe for her upcoming wedding. She wanted something classic. Something elegant. Something that would reflect her sophisticated personality and style. And definitely something that didn’t look like it also belonged on every other bride.
A native of Saint Louis and seasoned shopper, Laura found this to be a most daunting task and realized she wasn’t just wishing for the perfect wedding shoe, but for the perfect shoe for every occasion. Surely there were other women sitting in their closets agonizing about finding something so perfect. Saint Louis needed a high-end women’s shoe boutique that offered distinct shoes with style and confidence.
Laura decided she was ready to make her wish a reality and combine her love of shoes and flair for fashion into a business. She said adieu to her successful career in the life insurance business and took a leap of faith…asking her sister-in-law, Kara, and mom, Felicite, to come along for the ride.
Kara serves as the advertising director and marketing manager and is also an art appraiser at Ivey-Selkirk Auctioneers. Her creativity is the perfect compliment to Laura’s business determination. Felicite oversees all details in the boutique as store manager and her mature perspective balances the two girls’ youthful and fashionable flair. Together, the three ladies know what they like, and their differences have translated into a palette of shoes and accessories as varied and individual as the clients who wear them.
